New compatibility

Smug is now compatible with Sigenergy and SolarEdge!

This week we have launched compatibility with two of the biggest names in the UK battery market. Smugglers-to-be with Sigenergy or SolarEdge inverters will now be able to connect up, and start optimising their energy use.

When setting up your account in the app, select SolarEdge or Sigenergy from the dropdown.

Both are marked with ‘Beta’, because you will be one of our bold and pioneering Smugglers!

We already have Sigenergy and SolarEdge systems up and running on Smug, but you will be some of our early users, joining all our Smug veterans with GivEnergy, FoxESS, and Eleven inverters.

Smug on YouTube

We have recently appeared on Tim & Kat’s Green Walk!

Tim has spent the last few months testing Smug and finding out how it works. He has now put together an in-depth review and demo of our app and Bug, as well as interviewing Andy, who leads the Smug team. Check out his video below...

Flex

Smug Flex is coming soon!

We are closing in on launching Smug Flex. This will connect you to the flexibility markets, where you can get paid for responding to grid demand. With Flex, our app will be a comprehensive way to get the best out of your battery.

By building a virtual power plant out of Smug-connected systems, we will gain access to the flexibility markets. With this capability we can then pay you to contribute and absorb energy at certain times. While we’ll take a small cut of what you make, we aim to be more generous than others in this space.

Smug Flex will be operational in the near future. Sign up for a pre-launch briefing pack here, so you are prepared to flick the switch.

FAQs

Beta testers

We are actively working on expanding Smug’s compatibility.

Currently, Smug works with GivEnergy, FoxESS, and Eleven, but we are on the hunt for testers for other brands. We have already had some success with our target brands, thanks to our beta testers and wonderful software devs.

If you are interested in Smug but your system is not currently compatible, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’ll add your brand to the list and, if you are interested, you can become a beta tester!

We’re back!

Hello!

Smug is back - and better than ever. It has fledged and is now flying high, gathering lots of new users.

We’ve rebuilt Smug from the ground up with a new app and smarter optimisation. It now supports GivEnergy, FoxESS, and Eleven systems, with more on the way.

If you are interested in Smug, go to our homepage to download our free-to-use app, and have a look at how it works while you’re there. You’ll also find a link to our Smug Bugs, a big family of which are now working away quietly in Smug-users’ homes across the country.
